Megyn's First Triathlon

Allright. Here are some pictures of Megyn practicing for her first triathlon and the actual race day. She really improved her physical skills throughout the training. When she first did the run portion during practices, she ran too fast and ended up having to walk. On race day she paced herself and ended up running the whole distance! I should mention the distances for each portion--the run was 400m, bike 1 mile and swim 25m. Her bike to swim transition was the most amazing for me to watch! After biking for a mile (and already running) she got off her bike, stripped down and sprinted(!) to the pool. We were so proud of her! I almost lost my voice screaming for her! It was so much fun for her that she wants to do another one! She had a great time with friends and has inspired Ally to want to compete in it next year. The only part that was tough was that she had to wait two hours for her age division to go. It was pretty hot out and waiting made her feel really nervous. It was a great day and we enjoyed watching her give it her all. For those of you that do not know, I am also competing in my first triathlon on Thanksgiving Day. It is a sprint triathlon so it is considerably shorter than a normal one, but it will still be challenging for me. It will consist of a 2 mile run, 13 mile bike ride and a 400m swim (in November--what was I thinking). I am nervous but excited and will keep you posted. Until then, enjoy the pictures of Megyn and her friends. I will pass on any messages you leave for her.
